The SEO Report Card helps you monitor how your site is performing for your primary keyword. There's quite a lot of information to be found in this report, so we'll break it down section by section.
The first section of the SEO Report Card gives you a visual summary of the data to come. This will all make more sense as we learn more about the other sections.
Rank Analysis
The Rank Analysis section monitors whether or not your site is ranking within the top 10 & top 100 for Google, Bing, and Yahoo!. It also lets you compare your rankings to your top competitors at a glance.
Link Building
The Link Building section tracks the amount of links that direct visitors to your site as well as the amount of unique websites that these links come from. It's fairly common for the number of unique websites to be far lower than the number of total backlinks, so don't worry if you notice a big discrepancy!
The graph to the right provides a visual representation of how your backlink profile stacks up against your major competitors. Generally, the larger the bar, the stronger the link profile.
On-Site Analysis
The On-Site Analysis section scans your site's homepage and determines whether or not your primary keyword is included in the title tag and body content. Bear in mind that the SEO Report Card only tracks your primary keyword.
Website Accessibility
The Website Accessibility section monitors the load speed of your homepage and scans your robots.txt file & meta tags on your homepage to ensure that search engines are allowed to index your site.
The graph to the right provides a visual representation of your website's download time. In this case, the larger the bar, the slower the site. It's better to have a short bar than a tall bar.
Trust Metrics
The Trust Metrics section measures your website's domain strength and allows you to track how you stack up against your competitors using the graph to the right.
Current Indexing
The Current Indexing section gives you a basic view of whether or not your site is being indexed by the 3 major search engines: Google, Bing, and Yahoo!. If the answer to any of these three questions is no, then you'll want to determine what is causing the issue as soon as possible.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
The SEO Report Card isn't crawling my site properly.
The platform uses googlebot to crawl your site; that is to say that the platform crawls your site exactly as Google does. The most common cause of a crawl error is a robots.txt file that prevents user agents with "googlebot" in the string from accessing the site. The first place to look if the SEO Report Card isn't functioning properly is the robots.txt file. If everything looks good there, your next destination is the source code of your site. Incorrectly implemented redirects can sometimes prevent our crawler from ever moving past your homepage. If this is the case, simply correcting those redirects and refreshing the report should resolve the issue.
